I'm looking for an internship / RA / PhD position!

I’m pivoting to Robotics.

My research mainly focuses on Human-Robot Spatial Communication at the intersection of Robotics, XR, and 3D Computer Vision.

My background includes:

  • Recently, in August 2024, I worked on a project that aimed to develop a novel framework enabling multimodal LLMs to incorporate Chain-of-Thought reasoning during inference, improving visual reasoning performance.
  • For my master’s thesis from 2022 to 2023, I worked on a mobile outdoor AR system that assists general users in placing virtual content and communicating location information.
  • From 2020 to 2021, I developed ML and DL models tailored for real time-series data in the steel industry in collaboration with POSCO, as well as lightweight recognition models for mobile devices with ETRI.

I have a genuine interest in exploring how Robotics, XR, and AI can improve the way we communicate spatial information with robots and intelligent systems. I believe this direction can help pave the way toward a future where people and robots collaborate more naturally.

If you are interested in working with me on research, please feel free to contact me at iyohan@alumni.kaist.ac.kr or iyohan.john@gmail.com.
